The metagraph platform inorigo® is now a separate legal entity

March 27, 2024 – Malmö, Sweden

As a natural step in Ortelius’s evolution and to better support all the Inorigo customers the inorigo® MetaGraph platform is now owned and managed by Inorigo AB. We want the inorigo® technology to be developed and financed by the inorigo company.

Ortelius will reinforce it’s focus on providing excellent consulting services for our customers, services that go beyond the technological capabilities of inorigo®.

Ortelius still will be a partner to INORIGO AB and utilize the unique business and operations development capabilities of the inorigo® MetaGraph platform.

“Ortelius customers are every day challenged by the continuously increasing complexity of their enterprise. Unfortunately, this leads to misconceptions, high risk in the decision-making process, silo management and a lot of missed opportunities. inorigo® is the only platform on the market today where we as business consultants can build up a trustworthy information model (or digital twin) of the enterprise together with their clients and have the capability to define and test future scenarios”, says Ortelius CEO Ulf Jensen.

Publicerad: 19 September, 2022 av Alexandra Jerrebro |

March 29, 2022 – Malmö, Sweden

The 3rd generation of the award-winning inorigo® software platform have taken another big step towards its vision to help businesses transform more coordinated, more precise, faster and without having to be dependent on programming wizards or database experts.

The platform has a unique database capability which combines hierarchical, relational and graph functions, enabling highly interconnected, flexible and accurate models of the business world. By utilizing scientific taxonomy and ontology principles, inorigo® ensures that organizations can have one common enterprise wide “definition language” of their business-critical information. The implementation allows for customers to improve the collective business decision making, based on an accurate 360-view of the entire enterprise.

“This comprehensive launch is really in line with our vision. With inorigo®, we can find out what is the right complex challenges to solve for our customers and solve them with our team of business consultants, not having to program one single line of code. This software release ensures simplicity in order for customers to take ownership of their own digital transformation using inorigo®. It also provides customers with the tools to focus on accelerated growth and trustworthy data to base decisions upon. We work closely with our customers and pay attention to their needs and requirements. Together with them and an innovative mindset, our new software generation is the result,” said Ulf Jensen, CEO at Ortelius.

The focus of the 3rd generation is to improve data exchange between systems and to extend the low code capabilities. The inorigo® platform makes collective human and machine decision making possible through an extensive set of visualizing exploratory tools and web services. The inorigo® software includes features for application builders, database designers and more intuitive support to build datasets. This software release is a new type of platform that also provides enhanced interface, increased productivity as well as ensured intuitive guidance for the end customer.

“inorigo® enables an unseen flexibility in modeling. Ortelius partners with Care Communicator to create a digital health platform

Publicerad: 19 September, 2022 av Alexandra Jerrebro |

February 8, 2022 – Malmö, Sweden

Malmö-based digital twin software services firm Ortelius partners with trailblazing start-up Care Communicator to enable easy access to quality healthcare through advanced digital platform technology.

Ortelius provides the backend for Care Communicator’s digital solution to facilitate decision support for both the patients and the medical staff. Lund-based Care Communicator offers people a service that lets them take charge of where and how they can access healthcare. This through a list of options and suggested places in the patient’s own country, the EU or elsewhere.

“Care Communicator is at the forefront of healthcare innovation, which will be vital for patients who need healthcare quick and easy. With our inorigo® platform we have been able to, in a quick and easy way, prototype and build a serviceable back-end for Care Communicator’s solution. Everyone that build solutions are challenged by the fact they should build a back-end that has a well-designed database at the core. With inorigo® this can be done by the customer themselves or our business consultants will help them. This is very much a no-code experience,” says Ulf Jensen, CEO at Ortelius.

The aim of the digital solution is to shorten care queues and offer reliable healthcare through the extended digital health and wellness tool that people can use continuously on their device of choice. People seeking treatment should be provided with quality healthcare options at the right time. Sometimes the queues are long within the local healthcare system. A need was identified to provide patients with the help they need to find adequate treatment options elsewhere.

“We were very keen on partnering with Ortelius since they are a high-tech company with comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the healthcare industry. Our objective is for people to make their own choices for their own health with the help of reliable information and easy access. Care Communicator gives an overall transparency and simplifies processes for both for the individual and the caregivers – and Ortelius supports us in delivering on our promise”, says Lars Holmqvist, CEO at Care Communicator.

Ortelius globally recommended by Gartner as a top vendor for Enterprise Business Process Analysis tools

Publicerad: 19 September, 2022 av Alexandra Jerrebro |

February 3, 2022

Gartner, the world’s leading research and advisory company, has recommended the Swedish technology company Ortelius as a key vendor for Enterprise Business Process Analysis (EBPA) tools in their latest published Market Guide.

This is the second time Ortelius is recommended by Gartner. First time was as a key DTO vendor out of all candidates examined globally. DTO stands for Digital Twin of an Organization and is a revolutionary technology which helps innovative and tech-savvy leaders to prioritize, guide, plan, monitor, analyze and scale complex business. This time in the EBPA Market Guide, Ortelius is recommended in the “Enable Digital Transformation by Closing the Strategy-to-Execution Gap” case for digital transformation cases.

“This is yet another huge acknowledgement from Gartner. We are encouraged by our clients who believes in us and recognize the benefits of our inorigo® platform. Gartner’s research is a testimony that our clients are on the right track, and hopefully many more, improving their business by using our technology”, says Ulf Jensen, CEO of Ortelius.

The Gartner case reflects what value Ortelius can create and deliver to customers. EBPA tools, in this case, help translate strategy into execution, support change initiatives and transformation, and support decision making.

“Ortelius’ DTO can handle new or changed data, but does not only change this in the mapping, but also in the feeding data component. This is a rarely seen exceptional capability that makes the Ortelius’ DTO truly dynamic”, says Marc Kerremans, VP Research at Gartner.

The Digital Twin of an Organization enables modelling capabilities of complex business dependencies to understand how the entire business is connected. This is the foundation for solving complex business problems and at the same time defining a common language for the entire enterprise. We create a true reflection of entire businesses to ensure decisions are based upon trustworthy data, enabling focus on accelerated growth, adapting to change and getting to a better future before the competitor.

Ortelius partners with InterSystems to enhance digital twin and machine learning offer

Publicerad: 19 September, 2022 av Alexandra Jerrebro |

January 11, 2022 – Malmö, Sweden

Swedish Ortelius, a digital twin technology company, partners with Boston-based InterSystems to offer combined solutions of unmatched business modelling capability together with high-speed data storage and machine learning capability.

”We are proud and happy to collaborate with InterSystems, which is a leader in data platform technology. As partners, we offer the best of both worlds, namely tackling the modeling of complex business dependencies and the handling of large amounts of data. It is beneficial for a business to place its large volumes of data in an understandable context, while at the same time reducing the risk in decision-making. Moreover, the machine learning ability increases significantly. The solution frees up costs and time to search for and coordinate information, and it provides customers with the tools to focus on accelerated growth and trustworthy data to base decisions upon,” Ulf Jensen, CEO of Ortelius.

The inorigo® platform together with InterSystems’ IRIS platform means that a customer can create a dynamic digital twin of their business and have their systems fully inter-connected, while also enjoying no limit to how much data can be stored and analyzed in real-time.

“We are delighted to begin this partnership with Ortelius, which is a prominent player in the field of digital twins. Our goal is to provide them with our expertise in data storage. It is a partnership with strategic scope aimed at better serving customers,” says Johan Nordström, Sales Executive at InterSystems.

“Data management and connecting it to a reliable 360° view of your company are hot topics and will continue to be so. Together with InterSystems, we are at the forefront. The combined platform has unique capabilities to build scalable digital twins in combination with low-code application development, advanced analysis in AI such as machine learning and natural language processing,” Ulf Jensen continues.

Ortelius globally recommended by Gartner as key vendor of a DTO

Publicerad: 19 September, 2022 av Alexandra Jerrebro |

January 21, 2020 – Malmö, Sweden

In their recently published Market Guide for “Technologies supporting a DTO”, Gartner, the world’s leading research and advisory company, has recommended the Swedish technology company Ortelius as a key DTO vendor of all candidates examined globally.

DTO stands for Digital Twin of an Organization and is a new technology; it helps innovative and tech-savvy leaders to prioritize, guide, plan, monitor, analyze and scale complex business. Or to share Gartner’s definition: “A digital twin of an organization (DTO) is a dynamic software model of any organization that relies on operational and/or other data to understand how an organization operationalizes its business model, connects with its current state, responds to changes, deploys resources and delivers exceptional customer value”.

Gartner recommends leaders to embrace the disruptive potential of a DTO, as one of their key research findings illustrates: Scaling digital business transformation initiatives can turn into an inscrutable jungle. Without a “navigator,” the risk of failure increases dramatically as the scope and pace of the digital business initiative expand.

Marc Kerremans, senior research director from Gartner comments: “Ortelius’ DTO can handle new or changed data, but does not only change this in the mapping, but also in the feeding data component. This is a rarely seen exceptional capability that makes the Ortelius’ DTO truly dynamic.”

Coordinating interdependencies within and across business transformation initiatives is challenging, yet key to success. Ortelius distinguished itself by addressing this challenge early on and developed an enterprise software platform, with supporting methodology, to help organizations become the best at managing complexity and unique collective intelligence. The invention enables integration and interaction of any human and machine generated knowledge. The digitized version of this collective intelligence is captured and available for transformation activities in the DTO. If executed well, the DTO will affect the organization’s market value, competitive edge and ability to vet investments for the right future.

Being called out as a key vendor by Gartner, who actually coined the term Digital Twin of an Organization, is a huge acknowledgment. Ortelius’ CEO, Ulf Jensen states:
“This is a recognition for the team developing the platform throughout the years…as well as for our clients, who demonstrated trust and courage as this affirmation proves we’re all on the right track – we feel very encouraged to continue our journey with many more clients benefiting from our technology”.

Already a number of Ortelius customers are implementing a DTO based on the Ortelius software and methodology, such as a global company within home environment and a global packaging company within liquid food.

Gartner’s research discusses digital twins of organizations, and, more specifically, the technology supporting these DTOs. It describes the market, identifies use cases, highlights key vendors and describes their fit to common-usage scenarios. Gartner sizes the market at about 50 firms that offer support of DTO capabilities in varying degrees.

Ortelius’ DTO can handle new or changed data, but does not only change this in the mapping, but also in the feeding data component. This is a rarely seen exceptional capability that makes the Ortelius’ DTO truly dynamic.
